Dr Tobias de Villiers is an obstetrician and gynaecologist currently practising in a private clinic in Cape Town, South Africa. He is a member of the IOF Scientific Advisory Committee. He is Chairman of the National Osteporosis Foundation South Africa Council, and is past president of the International Menopause Society. His research interests include menopause, menopausal hormone therapy and the effects of oestrogen on bone health. Dr de Villiers has been instrumental in the development of numerous international guidelines for the therapeutic management of menopause and is the author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications.
