Professor Şansın Tüzün, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa. She currently serves as Head of the Continuing Medical Education Council at the same university and is a member of the executive board of the Sports and Exercise Medicine Working Group of the Turkish Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Professor Tüzün is a founding member and President of the Turkish Osteoporosis Society, as well as Secretary-General of the Osteoporosis Patient Society of Turkey. She is also a Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) mentor and National FLS Coordinator, contributing to the incorporation of Turkish data into the FRAX tool. In addition, she is a board member of the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO) and serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of both ESCEO and the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). Professor Tüzün has numerous national and international publications, particularly focused on musculoskeletal diseases. Throughout her career, she has received several recognitions for her achievements, including the IOF President’s Award and the ESCEO Medal of Excellence.

La Profesora Şansın Tüzün, MD, PhD, es profesora de Medicina Física y Rehabilitación en la Facultad de Medicina Cerrahpaşa de la Universidad de Estambul-Cerrahpaşa. Actualmente se desempeña como directora del Consejo de Educación Médica Continua de la misma universidad y es miembro del comité directivo del grupo de trabajo de Medicina del Deporte y del Ejercicio de la Sociedad Turca de Medicina Física y Rehabilitación. La profesora Tüzün es miembro fundadora y presidenta de la Sociedad Turca de Osteoporosis, así como secretaria general de la Sociedad de Pacientes con Osteoporosis de Turquía. También es mentora de Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) y coordinadora nacional de FLS, contribuyendo a la incorporación de datos de Turquía en la herramienta FRAX. Además, es miembro del directorio de la European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO) y forma parte del Consejo Asesor Científico tanto de ESCEO como de la International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). La profesora Tüzün cuenta con numerosas publicaciones nacionales e internacionales, especialmente centradas en enfermedades musculoesqueléticas. A lo largo de su trayectoria ha recibido diversos reconocimientos por sus logros, entre ellos el IOF President’s Award y la ESCEO Medal of Excellence.
